Marcela is from the colonial city of Puebla, Mexico and she and her husband moved to Boston in 2020. Marcela pursued her master’s degree as a Chevening Scholar at the Institute of Development Studies in the UK. She has extensive experience working in the non-profit sector in Mexico and began her teaching career three years ago as a Spanish teacher at Saint Sebastian’s School in Needham, MA. There, she focused on improving her student’s oral and written communication, while also bringing them closer to Latin American culture and traditions. At her previous school, Marcela designed and coordinated a project in which all intermediate and advanced Spanish students held one-on-one virtual conversations with a Mexican student from her hometown. Outside of teaching, Marcela enjoys traveling, spending time in nature, practicing yoga, and walking. Marcela joined Meridian in 2025.
