3/6: Ashon’s JRPS Project: Protest Art Making Workshop

  • Time: 3:30pm - 4:30pm

  • Attendees: All students are welcome, but must sign up here.

  • Location: Sabrina’s/Marcela’s room

  • Workshop Description: Welcome to my Protest Art Making Workshop. Within this workshop, students will get a brief history of art as a form of protest. From there, they will get to see examples of protest art (specifically within the Civil Rights Movement). Then they will learn what makes these pieces effective forms of protest. Lastly, we will utilize art analysis strategies to analyze protest pieces and create our own small-scale protest art pieces. Content Warning: There may be discussion around Racial Violence, Death, and Oppression.

3/18: Exhibition Evening!

  • Time: 6:30pm - 8:30pm

  • Attendees: All students required. All families and others are strongly encouraged!

  • Location: Students meet in Parish Hall at 6:15pm.

  • Attire: Students should be dressy — wearing Exhibitions attire (no sneakers, no jeans, no logos).

  • Details: Come hear from students about their work from the trimester! We will hear a performance in Parish Hall from 6:30-7:00, followed by sharing in the main building from 7:00-8:30.

  • The school day ends as normal at 2:00pm. Middle schoolers will be asked to take this time to leave the building to relax until 6:15pm (unless you’ve made prior plans with Sarah). High schoolers can stay after school until the start of Exhibitions.

3/25: Music Night

  • Time: 6:30pm - 8:30pm

  • Attendees: All music students (trimester 2 classes and band) are required. All others are welcome to attend!

  • Location: Parish Hall

  • Details: Come hear a wonderful evening of music performances from both bands and all of the recent music classes! It’s a full evening of music and merriment!

3/27: P.R.O.M. (Party Reserved for Older Meridianites)

  • Time: 7:00pm - 10:00pm

  • Attendees: All high school students are welcome and can invite a plus one (must provide proof of vaccination).

  • Tickets: Required for all attendees; please see Keala, Eleanor, or Ashon for details.

  • Location: Parish Hall

  • Details: The theme is Starry Night! Dress up, enjoy a tasty dinner, and dance the night away!
