Sculpture/ Installation - Please start to collect natural objects such as, pine cones, feathers, chestnuts, acorns, etc to use in our installation. We will continue to make plaster casts on Friday. Art History - Please bring your art box and art cards to class this week to contiue working on. |

Both classes: Please take a look at the work of art called, the 'Thinker', by Rodin and complete a drawing, but turning the 'Thinker' into an animal. Use the full page and you may use any materials of your choice. Please bring in 3-5 family photos with interesting subjest matter/composition. |

1st class - Please continue to collect recylced materials that you will need to create your papier mache animal. Artists reports are due on Wed., please include a copy of the print you are descibing and please have your report typed and printed out. At least two full paragraphs. Also, please bring in 3-5 family photos with interesting subjest matter/composition. If you forgot your artist, please contact me through e-mail. 2nd class - Pick one piece of art work that interests you and write two paragraphs telling why you chose it. Include the date, artist, time period, and interesting facts about the piece or the art scene of that time. Please type your report and print out a copy of the piece of work. |

1st Thursday class (Spanish 2 & 3): Please bring in a completed sketch of "My Life as a Movie" and be ready to begin the final piece. Be creative, look at DVD's at home for ideas, pay attention to the graphic design and look closely at the text on each of them. Looking forward to seeing your ideas! 2nd Thursday class (Spanish 1): Please bring in your finished sketch for your personal Mandala. Think about what materials you would like to use, (you must use at least two different media on the final piece) and how you will portray yourself in the center of the Mandala. In addition, please begin collecting magazines that have good color, text, and photos to re-stock our old used up collection. We could also use newspapers and items from your recycle bin, (styrofoam plates, plastic bottles, cereal boxes, paper towel and TP rolls, etc.) -- whatever you think you may want to use to build your armature or to share with others. Do a one page write up on the artist that you were assigned in class. Please have it printed and include:
You can choose to write about the artist, his/her life, the time period and what was going on during that time in art, his/her work or one specific piece, (if so, please include a print of the piece). Please do not just copy from a single site but read from a few different pieces/books and put a summary together in your own words. Include a bibliography (list of your resources). 2nd Thursday class: Pick one piece of work from the artist that you chose and tell us about it. Write a one page report and please include a copy of the work you chose, the artist name, date, title, and the medium used. |
